Grain II

2020

Grain Traders, 2020

Commissioned by Grain Traders, this textile mural is inspired by the colours and textures of the ingredients that goes into the delicious healthy meals prepared at Grain Traders. It is also inspired by a quotation from William Blake’s poem “Auguries of Innocence”,

To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour.
— William Blake

To see a world in a grain (of sand) is about imagination, vision and visualising the big picture from a minuscule fragment of a detail. Part of living a life well-lived is paying attention to one’s diet by being conscious of what we put into our bodies.
